These days people are carrying their laptops and notebooks everywhere. There are several additional items that make portable computers more convenient.
For many people a mouse is more user friendly than the touch pads that are built into portable computers. Whether they are laptops, notebooks, or netbooks, using a mouse is often handier and quicker for getting through web pages and documents. For computer users with larger hands, a mouse is almost a necessity. And for those users who are used to using a mouse with their PC and are now adding a laptop or switching to a portable computer, changing from a mouse to a touch pad is often frustrating and the learning curve takes time to perfect. Go Nano Notebook Optical MouseVerbatim’s Go Nano notebook optical mouse is a small mouse, but not a mini-mouse, so even large hands will feel comfortable using it. The mouse measures about four inches long, putting it in the mid-size range. And the best part about this mouse is it doesn’t need to be tethered to the computer. The user needs to simply plug in the receiver to a USB port making this a wireless mouse. The receiver is very small and does not stick out of the USB port, so it can remain plugged in even when the computer is tucked into a case. It sticks out a mere quarter of an inch from the port. There is storage for the receiver on the bottom of the mouse for when the user does not want to keep it plugged into the USB port. The Go Nano mouse comes in a variety of colors and is a fully-functioning and easy to grip unit. With two buttons and a wheel, this mouse is ergonomically correct and easy to use. It comes along with the application software, the mouse, receiver, quick-start guide, and two AAA batteries. Notebook EssentialsVerbatim also has a set called Notebook Essentials which comes in a zippered case and contains five items which make a portable computer more convenient. The first item is a mini mouse. It’s a mere three inches long and only three quarters of an inch high. This is definitely a mini mouse. It uses a retractable cord which plugs into a USB port. A retractable phone/network cable modem is the second piece of this collection. It’s two and a quarter by one and a quarter with retractable cords. This is great for business workers who often have to plug into a network in a hotel room. The third item is a retractable USB cable. And the fourth component is a Mini USB to USB adapter. Most cameras and small portable devices use the Mini USB ports, which are not a standard on laptops/notebooks. With this adapter the user can easily plug in a camera or whatever directly into the computer. And the final component is a 4-port USB Hub, which adds more USB ports to one single USB port. With this hub, a user can plug in a mouse, flash drive, camera, and another item all using one USB port. That is convenience combined with necessity. Portability and ConvenienceThe five items come in a portable case measuring seven and a half inches by four inches, so it will easily slip into a briefcase, large purse, or carry-on bag. In these days of portable computing, it is not only convenient but also important to have these additional items to add to the benefits of small computers. With these components, portable computing is easier than ever. All of these products work with Windows and Mac.
